Belarus leader Lukashenko visits North Korea to strengthen relations

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has begun a two-day official visit to North Korea to strengthen bilateral ties, with plans to sign a treaty of friendship and about ten additional agreements. The meeting comes as both nations align in their support for Russia amid Western sanctions and accusations of human rights violations. North Korea has reportedly aided Russia in its military efforts in Ukraine, while Belarus has deepened its ties to Moscow since the 2022 invasion.
