Challenges in Addressing London’s Homelessness Crisis

Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church in London, where Martin Luther King Jr. preached, is overwhelmed by the growing homelessness crisis, citing a record 210,000 people, including 102,000 children, in temporary accommodation. The church, which allows around 15 individuals to sleep in its basement each night, has collaborated with street artist Endless to create a 7ft statue highlighting the issue. Local charities are calling for increased investment in affordable housing and support services, as rough sleeping has surged by 400% since 2008.
