FIFA rejects Iran’s request to relocate World Cup matches from the US

FIFA has dismissed Iran’s request to relocate its World Cup matches to Mexico, stating that it looks forward to teams competing according to the original schedule. Iranian football federation president Mehdi Taj indicated concerns over security due to recent U.S. and Israeli air strikes on Iran. If Iran withdraws, Iraq could replace them in the tournament. Iran is set to face New Zealand in Los Angeles on June 15.
