St George Mining has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Brazilian firm Nanum Nanotecnologia to enhance the product mix from its Araxá rare earths project by separating cerium and lanthanum. This strategy aims to increase the concentration of higher-value elements like neodymium and praseodymium, which are essential for high-performance magnets, while monetizing the abundant cerium. The collaboration will include metallurgical tests to optimize recoveries and explore cerium product technologies.
