Grammarly is facing a class-action lawsuit filed by journalist Julia Angwin, who claims the company used her identity for its “Expert Review” AI feature without consent, violating privacy and publicity rights. Angwin discovered her inclusion through another journalist, Casey Newton, and several other current staff members from a notable publication were also identified as experts used in the AI-generated suggestions. In response, Superhuman, which initially offered an opt-out feature, has announced the discontinuation of this feature and plans to reassess its approach.
