A fire broke out at a vape shop on Union Street in Glasgow, rapidly spreading to the historic Union Corner building. Thankfully, all occupants evacuated safely before the blaze intensified, fueled by lithium-ion batteries. The incident, which occurred just after 4 PM, raises concerns about fire safety regulations for businesses handling such products, particularly as the shop was not registered to sell tobacco or nicotine products. A passer-by attempted to extinguish the flames but was forced back by explosions from the batteries.
