Hino Motors Ltd. has pleaded guilty to importing and selling over 105,000 vehicles and engines with false emissions data for more than a decade, following an investigation by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Toyota subsidiary will pay over $1.6 billion in fines over five years and forfeit an additional $1 billion in profits from these illegal sales. The EPA highlighted this case as a significant achievement in its enforcement efforts for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2025.
