US Embassy in Baghdad Attacked Amid US-Israel Escalation with Iran

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani ordered security forces to pursue those responsible for attacking the US Embassy in Baghdad with rockets, amid heightened tensions from the US-Israeli conflict with Iran. The attack, the first in the Green Zone since the war began, is believed to be linked to Iran and its paramilitary forces in Iraq. Additional drone attacks targeted Baghdad airport and PMF bases in Nineveh, while Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps threatened separatist groups in the Kurdish region. Iraq aims to avoid being drawn into the escalating Middle East conflict.
