Flotsam and Jetsam founder Pia Boschetti announced plans to potentially hold the popular recycling and art initiative biannually instead of annually, with the 2026 theme “Flotsambury” possibly incorporating a music festival. Since its inception in 2011, the event has successfully reduced ocean waste around the Abrolhos, although this year’s collection was notably lower. Boschetti expressed excitement for the upcoming theme and the need for a larger venue to showcase anticipated art pieces made from collected materials.
