Ottawa entrepreneur faces legal threat from Spice Girls’ lawyers

An Ottawa woman, Lily Bond, is changing the name of her spice business, Spyce Girlz Seasoning, after receiving a trademark infringement threat from the Spice Girls’ legal representatives. Bond, who started selling custom spice blends at 13, initially used the name due to a playful reference from customers. Despite her trademark being approved in October 2023, she decided to rebrand to continue growing her business after facing legal challenges.
