DNA links fugitive to 1996 killing of Kentucky girl

A man has been charged with the 1996 kidnapping and murder of 7-year-old Morgan Jade Violi in Bowling Green, Kentucky, after advancements in forensic science linked him to the crime. Robert Scott Froberg, an escaped fugitive at the time, was already in Alabama’s prison system when he was connected to Violi’s case through DNA evidence from a fiber found in a stolen van used during her abduction. Froberg admitted to taking Violi and causing her death, leaving her body in a wooded area. He could face life in prison or the death penalty if convicted.
