Chad closes border with Sudan to prevent conflict escalation

Sudan has been engulfed in a violent power struggle since April 2023, stemming from a conflict between the national army, commanded by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), led by his former deputy General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, also known as Hemedti. The escalation of tensions has resulted in significant violence and instability throughout the country.
