Four football matches in Mexico were postponed following the death of drug cartel leader Nemesio Ruben Oseguera Cervantes, known as “El Mencho.” The cancellations included two top-tier matchups: Queretaro vs Juarez in the men’s league and Chivas vs America in the women’s league, as well as two second-division games. Additionally, an international friendly between Mexico and Iceland was also called off. The Jalisco New Generation Cartel, which Oseguera led, has been linked to violent unrest across multiple states.
