Trump Administration Appeals Judge’s Order on Slavery Exhibits
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Trump administration has appealed a judge’s order mandating the return of slavery exhibits to the President’s House Site in Philadelphia, which were removed in January. Judge Cynthia M. Rufe’s ruling requires the National Park Service and related officials to restore the site to its previous state and maintain it properly while litigation is ongoing. Philadelphia’s mayor and other local leaders hailed the decision as a victory for historical truth, amidst ongoing community support for restoring the exhibits. The federal appeal may delay the reinstatement of the displays, but advocates remain optimistic.
