Around 1,200 Israeli public figures, including Nobel laureates and former military officials, opposed a proposed law by Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government to impose the death penalty on Palestinian prisoners, calling it a “moral stain.” The bill, advanced by the far-right Otzma Yehudit party, would apply solely to Palestinians accused of killing Israelis.
