Car Dealers Request Reimbursement for EVs from Previous Rebate Program
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Canadian federal electric vehicle (EV) rebate program has relaunched, offering up to $5,000 for EVs under $50,000 and $2,500 for plug-in hybrids. However, some auto dealers express concern over unpaid claims from the previous program, with one dealer out $20,000 due to reimbursement issues. As the new portal for claims won’t launch until April, dealers are wary of potential delays. The Canadian Automobile Dealers Association urges Transport Canada to reimburse outstanding claims to foster trust and support EV sales.
