Olympic ski jumper disqualified for boot size violation

Austrian ski jumper Daniel Tschofenig, a favorite for a gold medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics, was disqualified from the large hill event due to his boots being four millimeters over the Olympic requirements. Despite qualifying for the finals, he acknowledged his oversight in not checking the boot sizes. Slovenian Domen Prevc won gold, with Japan’s Ren Nikaido and Poland’s Kacper Tomasiak taking silver and bronze, respectively. Tschofenig now aims to train for the 2030 Games after a successful World Cup career.
