Researchers Interview 130 Bigfoot Hunters
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

In 1967, a film captured a mysterious 7-foot-tall, ape-like creature in Northern California, sparking widespread debate over its authenticity as either a hoax or evidence of Bigfoot. While many consider it a hoax, some enthusiasts, known as Bigfooters, continue to search for proof of the creature’s existence across various states. Sociologists Jamie Lewis and Andrew Bartlett explored the motivations behind this community’s dedication in their book “Bigfooters and Scientific Inquiry: On the Borderlands of Legitimate Science.” Their research involved interviews with over 130 Bigfooters during the lockdown, shedding light on their beliefs and practices.
