A member of the Craven Potholing Club discovered a prehistoric Wolverine jaw estimated to be 80,000 to 90,000 years old while digging in the new C-Chamber at Stump Cross Caverns in Yorkshire Dales National Park. This significant find provides insight into Ice Age fauna, with the club having removed 75 tonnes of rubble so far, aiming to open the new section to visitors by 2028. The specimen will be preserved for study by palaeontologists, enhancing understanding of the region’s ancient wildlife.
