Dutch speedskater Jutta Leerdam won gold and broke the Olympic 1,000-meter speed skating record at the 2026 Milan Cortina Games with a time of 1:12.31. Her fiancée, Jake Paul, was emotionally moved, crying in the stands alongside her family. Leerdam’s victory marked her first Olympic gold and second medal overall, following a silver in 2022. The previous record was held by teammate Femke Kok, who won silver with a time of 1:12.59.
