CORTINA D’AMPEZZO, Italy (AP)

Lindsey Vonn, competing with a severely injured left knee, crashed during the Olympic downhill event and required medical assistance. The race was paused as she received treatment after losing control on the course. Vonn, returning to elite ski racing after nearly six years away and a titanium knee replacement, aimed for another Olympic appearance. Her participation was a notable comeback story at the Games.
