In a tragic turn of events, 17 animals, including nine hog deer and eight sambar deer, drowned in Kaziranga National Park due to flooding caused by heavy rains. However, wildlife officials were able to rescue 72 other animals, such as rhinoceroses and elephants, from the rising waters. Efforts are underway to continue monitoring the situation and ensure the safety of the remaining wildlife in the park.
