Teen Attempts to Recruit for Local Nazi Group

A teenager, Joseph Cope, now 20, was found to have promoted right-wing terrorism online, encouraging people to “join your local Nazis” through his Telegram channel, “Serrano’s Division,” which had 277 subscribers. Cope shared extremist images and hundreds of terrorist publications, including Mein Kampf, and was arrested at his home in Hertfordshire in June 2022. He denied charges of encouraging terrorism and possessing terrorist documents, claiming he was exploited by a fictional group. The court is considering extensive psychiatric evaluations, with a mental health order likely to follow.
