Chuck Negron, the 83-year-old founding member of Three Dog Night, died from heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at his home in Los Angeles. Negron, known for his lead vocals on hits like “Joy to the World” and “One,” faced personal struggles with addiction but found sobriety in 1991 and later released seven solo albums. He reconciled with bandmate Danny Hutton last year, and is survived by his wife and five children. Born on June 8, 1942, Negron’s musical journey began in the Bronx before achieving fame in the late ’60s and ’70s.
