Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the arrests of Ian Davis Austin and Jerome Deangelo Richardson, two individuals named in a federal indictment related to a protest at The Cities Church in Minnesota. The indictment, which also includes former CNN anchor Don Lemon, charges the defendants with conspiracy against religious freedom. Lemon, arrested for his coverage of the protest, was released after a judge found insufficient probable cause for the charges. His attorney described the arrests as an unprecedented attack on the First Amendment amid heightened tensions over immigration policies.
