In Nova Scotia, public schools are closed for the third consecutive Monday due to a winter storm affecting the region. Areas like Cape Breton and parts of eastern and northern mainland Nova Scotia are under snowfall or winter storm warnings, leading to class cancellations in the Chignecto Central, Strait, and Cape Breton-Victoria regional education centers, as well as numerous closures and delays in Halifax. Public transit in Cape Breton Regional Municipality is suspended for the morning, and many universities have also canceled or delayed classes. Meteorologist Tina Simpkin warns that blowing snow will create hazardous visibility and complicate snow-clearing efforts.
