Four individuals, Mark Ashley (55) from Bedfordshire, Elena Walsh (64) from Birmingham, Karen Pooley (64) from Gloucestershire, and another 56-year-old man, tragically passed away last year after suffering from severe gastric illnesses. These illnesses were contracted while they were visiting islands off the coast of west Africa. The incidents have raised concerns regarding health and safety for travelers to the region. Investigations may be warranted to address the sources of these severe illnesses.
