His family described him as a caring individual deeply affected by immigration issues, and he had previously protested against similar violence. Although he was a lawful gun owner with a concealed carry permit, it remains unclear if he brandished his weapon during the incident. Following the shooting, his family faced difficulties obtaining information and confirmed his identity through the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
