A mother of ten, Amanda Wixon, 56, was found guilty of keeping a teenage girl as a ‘house slave’ in Gloucestershire for over 25 years, subjecting her to severe abuse, including physical violence and starvation. The victim, who moved in at 16, was discovered by police in March 2021 living in squalor, with no medical care for two decades. Wixon faces sentencing on March 12 after being acquitted of one assault charge but guilty of others, while the victim is now in foster care and attending college. The case highlighted failures in social services that allowed the abuse to continue unnoticed.
