A Brazilian au pair, Juliana Peres Magalhães, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and testified against her former employer and lover, Brendan Banfield, in a double homicide case. Banfield is charged with aggravated murder for the 2023 killings of his wife, Christine Banfield, and Joseph Ryan, which prosecutors claim was part of a plot to eliminate Christine. The pair allegedly staged the murders to appear as if they were defending themselves against an intruder. Banfield also faces child abuse charges as his 4-year-old daughter was present during the incident.
