Rory Linkletter became the first Canadian to complete a half marathon in under one hour, finishing in 59:49 in Houston, surpassing Cam Levins’ previous record by 69 seconds. The Calgary native, who placed seventh, has broken the national record twice in four years, previously running 1:01:08 in 2022. Linkletter has defeated Levins in all three of their half marathon encounters and aims for further milestones in upcoming races. His personal best prior to this was 1:00:57, set in Marugame, Japan.
