Tehran Protestors Could Face Death Sentences
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Tehran’s main prosecutor announced that protesters involved in violent actions, such as burning government buildings, could face the death penalty. The Iranian Supreme National Security Council warned that security forces would show “no leniency” towards those deemed saboteurs, attributing unrest to foreign influences, particularly from the U.S. and Israel. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei accused protesters of acting as “mercenaries for foreigners” and criticized U.S. President Trump for inciting discord. He warned that leaders like Trump, who overreach in their power, are destined to fall.
