The Egyptian Tennis Federation clarified that Abdelkader is not registered as an Egyptian player and was not entered into any tournament on Egypt’s behalf. Technical director Dia Nabil Loutfy stated that Abdelkader, who previously resided in Kenya, participated in an ITF tournament in Nairobi via a wildcard from the Kenyan Tennis Federation. The federation confirmed it had no records of her and played no role in her entering the tournament.
