Firefighters rescue dog from icy pond in Rhode Island

A yellow Labrador named Phoenix fell through thin ice while walking with his owner in Westerly, Rhode Island, on New Year’s Day. Firefighters from the Misquamicut and Watch Hill departments conducted a water rescue, braving 26-degree temperatures. Phoenix was unharmed and received extra food and a nap after the incident.
