Man Steals Money from Grandparents, Leading Them to Food Banks

Ashley Partington, 33, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for coercing and stealing nearly £5,000 from his elderly grandparents, leaving them reliant on food banks. Over three years, he used threats and intimidation, including knives and hammers, to extract money and sell their belongings for his addictions. The couple, aged 85 and 78, reported severe distress and financial hardship, leading to health issues. Partington is also banned from driving for four years and prohibited from contacting his grandparents for five years.
