A 22-year-old spinner from Bhutan, Sonam Yeshey, has set a record by becoming the first bowler to take eight wickets in an international T20 match, achieving figures of 8-7 against Myanmar. This milestone occurred during a T20 game where Bhutan won by 82 runs, bowling Myanmar out for 45 in response to Bhutan’s 127. Previously, the record was held by Syazrul Idrus and Ali Dawood, who took seven wickets each. Yeshey, who debuted in 2022, has since claimed 37 wickets in 34 T20 games.
