Thailand and Cambodia Agree to Ceasefire

Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to an immediate ceasefire after weeks of intense border clashes that resulted in at least 47 deaths and over a million displaced individuals. The fighting, which involved artillery, tanks, drones, and jets, spread across nearly all border provinces. The joint statement from both countries’ defense ministers specifies that the truce applies to all types of weapons and aims to protect civilians and infrastructure. The ceasefire is effective from 12pm local time on December 27, 2025.
