Ray Winstone revealed that he once auditioned for the role of Ruwee Naberrie, Padmé Amidala’s father, in a Star Wars prequel but had a disastrous experience after arriving intoxicated. His awkward audition included a confrontation with George Lucas, who relayed feedback through someone else, leading Winstone to suggest they both take a nap. Ultimately, the role went to Graeme Blundell, and Winstone expressed that he might not have enjoyed the film’s extensive bluescreen work. Despite his candidness about the experience, he later found himself in similar situations while filming Black Widow.
