The salon, which shared the video online, faced criticism for not reporting the cub’s presence, as owning wild animals is illegal in Russia. Authorities warned that improper treatment could lead to severe health issues for the cub, prompting a review of the footage and an investigation into the owner’s legality. Since January 2020, private ownership of wild animals, including lions, has been prohibited in the country.
