Bill Staubi, diagnosed with liver cancer and given 18 months to live, dedicated himself to finding homes for his 1,300-piece art collection, which he gifted to the Ottawa Art Gallery and other organizations. After two years, he unexpectedly learned his cancer was in remission and plans to support the art community by starting a new collection. Staubi expressed gratitude for the community’s support during his illness, which contributed to his positive outlook. He intends to be more mindful in his future art acquisitions, knowing they will ultimately need new homes.
