Naveed Akram, 24, has been charged with 59 counts, including 15 counts of murder and committing a terrorist act, following a mass shooting during a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach that left 15 dead. Among the victims were a ten-year-old girl and Rabbi Eli Schlanger, while 21 others were hospitalized. Akram’s father, Sajid, was killed by police during the incident, which has been labeled one of the deadliest attacks on Australia’s Jewish community. Bystander Ahmed al Ahmed, who intervened, sustained serious injuries but has gained widespread support, raising over AU$2 million through a GoFundMe campaign.
