MGM+ has greenlit an eight-episode drama series based on The Magnificent Seven, set in the 1880s, where a Quaker village seeks protection from mercenaries after being attacked by gunmen for a land baron. Created by Tim Kring, the series will explore the moral complexities of violence amidst the community’s faith against it. Production starts in June 2026, aiming to honor the legacy of the original film while delving deeper into the characters’ motivations. This new adaptation replaces a previous project developed by Nic Pizzolatto.
