Cultural funding in England needs reform to empower regional decision-making and eliminate the criticized Let’s Create strategy, which is seen as limiting artistic excellence, according to a review by Dame Margaret Hodge commissioned by the government. The review recommends maintaining Arts Council England (ACE), which allocates over £680 million annually, while establishing local boards for funding decisions. Hodge argues that the current approach stifles creativity and innovation in the arts.
