Increasing air pollution in Delhi (PTI image)

NEW DELHI: The Delhi government has mandated that schools shift students up to Class V to fully online classes due to severe air pollution, with an AQI reaching 498. All government and private schools must implement this change and ensure communication with parents, while classes for older students remain unchanged. The city’s air quality has deteriorated significantly in recent days, posing health risks, especially to vulnerable populations. Authorities expect the ‘severe’ pollution levels to persist, prompting residents to take precautions.
