Aussie Chemist Wins Nobel Prize

A humble Australian professor, Richard Robson from the University of Melbourne, received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in Stockholm, sharing the honor with Japan’s Susumu Kitagawa and Omar Yaghi. Their pioneering work on metal-organic frameworks enables the creation of molecular structures with large surface areas for gas storage, applicable in water harvesting and carbon capture. At 88, Robson expressed gratitude to his family and former students during the ceremony, where he continued to teach. He is recognized as the ninth oldest Nobel laureate.
