Quebec introduces bill targeting organized crime and sex offenders

The Quebec government has introduced Bill 13, aimed at enhancing public security through a public registry for high-risk sex offenders and measures against organized crime. The legislation includes an “anti-patch” provision to prohibit the display of criminal group symbols and imposes restrictions on protests near elected officials’ homes. Additionally, it allows police to share information about sex offenders with victims and support groups as needed. Victims would also have the opportunity to testify at the provincial parole board about their experiences.
