The Jammu and Kashmir government has mandated an increase in MBBS seats across all five government medical colleges. Baramulla, Doda, and Kathua will each gain 50 additional seats, while Srinagar and Jammu will add 20 each. Principals are encouraged to apply for further seat increases and enhance super-specialty care, with SKIMS planning to request approximately 130 postgraduate and 50 undergraduate seats. This initiative aims to strengthen medical education and healthcare services in the region.
