Judge Orders DOJ Attorney to Testify on Alien Enemies Act Deportations
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

U.S. District Judge James Boasberg has ordered Deputy Assistant Attorney General Drew Ensign to testify on Dec. 16 regarding the Trump administration’s deportation of over a hundred men under the Alien Enemies Act. Additionally, former DOJ attorney Erez Reuveni will testify on Dec. 15 about allegations of the administration evading court orders. The judge’s actions follow a temporary restraining order he issued that was reportedly ignored, prompting potential contempt proceedings against the government. Boasberg’s ruling emphasizes the need for clarity on the decision-making process that led to the deportations.
