Annabelle Cloutier has been appointed president and CEO of the National Arts Centre (NAC), becoming the first francophone woman to hold this position. Since joining the NAC in 2018, she has played key roles in strategic communications and corporate governance, contributing to significant initiatives like the centre’s 50th anniversary and the launch of its Indigenous theatre. Cloutier aims to engage with artists and audiences nationwide to promote the performing arts as a vital part of Canadian identity. Her predecessor, Christopher Deacon, officially retired last week.
