Brian McPherson, a 47-year-old Edmonton-based reality TV star, athlete, and disability advocate, passed away on Nov. 12 through Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) after battling health complications. He gained fame from the CBC show Push, showcasing life in wheelchairs, and was a former World Cup-winning para-bobsledder and sledge hockey player. Known for his vibrant personality and advocacy for the disabled community, McPherson inspired many through his athletic achievements and willingness to challenge societal norms. His mother, Judy, expressed that he should be remembered for his kindness and the impact he made on others’ lives.
